How We Choose Books
There are so many great books out there, it’s tough to choose which books we’ll review. For now, we are avoiding books that have won a lot of awards, because although most of them are great reads, we love to find books that haven’t already been fussed over a whole lot. Series are tricky too–we have lots of favorite series, and we’ll include them, but we won’t individually review every book in a long series–just review your favorite and let us know if you recommend buying others from that series. Aside from that, we’ve narrowed our requirements down to three questions:1. Did I love it?2. Did I learn something from it? You don’t have to have learned a science fact or a phrase in a new language from a book. Seeing different ways of looking at life and understanding other people is definitely learning too.3. Would I read it again? Chances are, if you answered yes to the first two, you are likely to have the characters and story from the book in your head for awhile, and you will want to come back and read the book again. If that’s the case, then we can confidently recommend that our readers buy the book.
